Radiology Associates of Richmond (RAR) is one of the oldest, continuously operating private radiology practices in the United States.
Founded in 1905, RAR has served the Central Virginia community since the early days of medical imaging and currently numbers 60 radiologists. The practice provides full-service 24/7/365 interpretations to nine hospitals and two health systems, including a full spectrum of subspecialty imaging and interventions: body imaging, breast imaging, cardio-thoracic radiology, musculoskeletal, pediatric, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, and vascular and neuro-interventional radiology.
The practice has a long history of service to patients and providers in the community. RAR radiologists contribute to hospital life by providing department leadership, participating in multidisciplinary committees, spearheading radiation safety initiatives, and training staff at many service locations. RAR provides community access to medical imaging and interventions at four outpatient centers and an outpatient vascular center.
Radiology Associates of Richmond has a well-developed quality and business infrastructure that includes a robust, analytics-based quality program as well as a managed services organization that provides revenue cycle, IT, data warehousing, and financial services.
