Central Illinois Radiological Associates (CIRA) has been providing quality-focused sub-specialized health care since 1938. Today it provides a comprehensive spectrum of diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology procedures for 17 hospitals and 53 outpatient centers throughout the Midwest.
The practice consists of 69?radiologists with expertise in subspecialties including neurointerventional surgery, vascular and interventional radiology, diagnostic radiology, breast imaging and intervention, women’s imaging, cardiothoracic imaging, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, oncologic imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, and pediatric radiology.?

Dr. H. Robert Smouse created and will submit “ConvertX” (medical device) for FDA approval in the coming months. The ConvertX could eliminate up to 300,000 surgeries a year worldwide by eliminating a second surgery for patients with blocked ureters, most commonly caused by cancer.
